Unit Conversion
The oil spill in the gulf of Mexico is leaking 42,000 gallons of oil a day. The Exxon Valdez spilled 35,000 tonnes of oil.
Gallons * 0.0034 = Tonnes
So the spill in the gulf of Mexico is spilling 142.8 Tonnes a day. It will be worse than the Exxon Valdez spill after 260ish days.
I don’t think its appropriate to compare the two quite yet.
Still bad though.
