57 years ago, this big sophomore came across the sock hop floor and asked me to dance. -grandma (about grandpa)
By cousin, on going to college.
I couldn’t imagine being involved on something other than science. C’mon, I grew up on bill nye and the magic school bus.
Pleats pleats pleats!
Apparantly none of the men in my family have heard of flat front trousers. Family pictures are almost over.

Does everyone REALLY say ‘aloha’ and ‘mahalo?’
I can’t handle the Hawaiian airport. It’s missing a lot if walls and is practically outdoors.
Beginning 12 hour flight to Hawaii.

I just found out that the first thing my great-grandpa asked for after waking up from a stroke/coma was a manhattan cocktail.
The airport on Christmas is surprisingly calm
There is some kind of party going ok in my building. :-(
Resisting the urge to watch ‘love, actually’
Home alone until I leave for my flight tommorow...
I’ve got a night of tv, video games, and wine planned! Currently taking things easy with some baileys/hot chocolate and House.
Damn Christmas weather. Flight got cancelled, now I’m flying home on Christmas day.
Excuse me miss
I watched you make my drink. There are TWO dashes of bitters in a manhattan. TWO. I’m trying not to be a pretentious fuck, but dashes of bitters make a BIG difference.
Andy's jazz club
Currently listening to a quartet of old men singing classic love songs. It’s a good night.

How appalling and truly shameful that rather than standing with all 27 European Union members, as well as Japan, Australia, Mexico and three dozen other countries, the United States opposed the UN declaration denouncing the criminalization of homosexuality, which in some countries, includes torture and the death penalty.

Screw Jim Carrey for thinking that taking that kind of medication long-term is not dealing wth the problem. On top of that, screw to Jenny McCarthy for pushing the anti-vaccination movement without any real evidence other than personal experience.

Is that so much to ask?
I just wish I could work up the energy to make breakfast on Sundays. I’ve got a recipe for Crepe Suzette that I think will fail unless its cooked before noon. I can just imagine impressing the girlfriend.

I just want someone to cook breakfast for every Sunday morning.
The Discipline of Content Strategy →
As a community, [the people who make websites are] rather quiet on the matter of content. In fact, we appear to have collectively, silently come to the conclusion that content is really somebody else’s problem—“the client can do it,” “the users will generate it”—so we, the people who make websites, shouldn’t have to worry about it in the first place.

Just saw my first opera: Porgy & Bess
Not my favorite thing.
I’m glad that I got a chance to see an Opera, but it ranks pretty low on my list of enjoyable performances. I really didn’t like the story, thought it was boring and didn’t understand many of the characters choices. But then I’m not living in the S. Carolina slums in the 20s/30s.
It was amazing hearing the performers, but it was honestly a little...
